Gallery Night Providence celebrates its 12th season, providing a free, fun-filled introduction to Providence's rich art scene. Gallery Nights take place on the third Thursday of the month, starting March 20th and lasting trough November, at over 20 various locations throughout Downtown Providence. Don't miss out in a night filled with live music, refreshments, Art Busses, celebrity guides and of course, a wealth of culture. Best of all, its free!
Gallery Night guides are available at Citizens Plaza and Ride the Art Busses. These guides offer information about different art exhibitions and point out the city's historic and architectural treasures. Parking is free at eight different parking lots throughout the city and Art Busses will circle the city from 5 to 9pm for your convenience (park you car at MetroPark on the corner of Stillman and Canal Streets behind Citizens Plaza and walk to the front of the Plaza to board the Art Bus, busses depart every 25 minutes or so). 2008 Schedule: March 20 April 17 May15 June 19 July 17 August 21 September 18 October16 November 20 NEW THIS YEAR: Special theme evenings. In addition, Gallery Night presents a unique evening of instruction and tips on how to Design Your Home with Art. As always, we end the season in November with our one-of-a-kind art shopping tour. Walking tours (unless noted otherwise) start from Citizen's Plaza at 6 pm and 6:30 pm and last about an hour. Tour will include stops at various galleries.
