Rustigians Rugs has been a core design source in Providence since its inception in 1930. Established by Roz's father "Rusty" the store was run out of the basement of the family home on Benefit Street until his death in 1980. The business moved to its Governor Street location in 1981 and was honored to be nationally awarded "Retailer of the Year" for specialty rug stores by the Atlanta Merchandise Mart in 2001.

The sales experience at Rustigian's is one in which the consumer is
afforded a pressure free opportunity to make an informed decision based both on eye appeal and the price quality ratio. Each inventory item is individually selected by Roz for its decorative merit and appeal Each sales person - Edie, Erich, and Roz - is versed in how a rug is made, in what makes it durable (or not) and trained in how best to advise clients in establishing decorative priorities for their individual life styles The in-depth rug knowledge and advise available at Rustigians are simply not provided by a department store or chain operation.

Always known as a source for Oriental Rugs, Rustigian's added a carpet
specialty department to its offerings in 1997. Shoppers can choose from
a full showroom of samples ranging from fine quality plush pile wool,
wall to wall to natural fabrics like Sisal and Seagrass. Going green?

The business also has a staff of dedicated and talented rug cleaners and repair specialists along with a network of outside restoration experts for particularly large or challenging textile jobs. The cleaning department specializes in treating carpets impacted by customers' loving pets.
