Wendy Brown History

Wendy Brown’s started as an in home business. Wendy, the founding president and owner, discovered a need for a fine linen source in her home town of Providence. Her goal was to offer a wide selection of fine quality bed bath and table linens. She also wanted to be able to offer the option of custom embroidery and trousseau style monogramming that had disappeared only to be replaced by ordinary machine monogramming.

Wendy Brown caries the finest quality linens which have been in homes for generations: Yves Delorme, Sferra Brothers, Anachini, John Matouk, Abyss, Peacock Alley, Dans nos Maison, Le Jacquard Francais, and Kim Sybert just to mention a few.

Her goal is to be able to fill your linen closet in one stop, with the best quality products. Her store is committed to creating a look for each customer be it custom embroidery, custom sizing or simply creating a fresh look with ready made collections that are unique to each customer's style.

Wendy Brown makes recommendations
for what should be in your linen closet.

Beds: for every bed that is used each day there should be a minimum of 2 sets of sheets. That set consisting of the top and bottom sheet and the number of pillows used to sleep with. The ultimate quantity would be 3 sets. Guest rooms can get by with one good set and a second basic set.

Towels: for each person in the house there should be 2 sets of towels. A set is made up of the towels you use individually - ie Bath sheet, Bath towel, Hand Towel and Wash Cloth. If you don’t use wash cloths, don’t have back-ups but do have them for the occasional use. There should also be 2 bath mats per bathroom. Again more ideal would be 3 sets of towels per person - one in the closet one, on the rack, and one in the wash, especially if you wash your towels after each use.

Table: Think what size the table would be to use a tablecloth. More than likely you are going to use the cloth with more leaves in for entertaining. You probably wouldn’t use a cloth on the smallest size. When investing in napkins buy in 4’s. never by 6 - you will always wish you had 2 more. When buying your cloth for the largest size table - definitley buy 12 napkins even if you can only seat 10. You will use the 12 for buffet or replace one that gets too soiled.
